Continental Event and Sports Management Group LLC is the rebirth of one of the leading race production teams in the US. Robert Pozo, founder of Continental Event and Sports Management Group, began his race production career in 1997 with wife Gaby Pozo with their first venture, Swim Bike Run, Inc. What started as a small business built on the passion of the sport turned into a race production career featuring triathlons, duathlons and 5K runs in the South Florida area. After producing more than 85 events, the Pozos teamed up with local marketing genius, Frankie Ruiz to stage the first ever ING Miami Marathon® . The 2003 event surprised the running world by launching its first ever event with a fortune 500 title sponsor and 5,000 runners. This event has grown in the last 8 years to hold a weekend of events hosting 22,000 runners and was just named as a top 10 running event by USA Today. Pozo’s latest strike of genius has been the US Road Sports’ 13.1 Marathon Series™: a series of half marathon events thought-out the country celebrating the most popular distance of all, the half marathon. And this series inspired him to look toward the next big thing: a series of half marathon event celebrating our proud heritage in the Southern region of the US. Continental Event and Sports draws on this vision to create world class half-marathons throughout Southern US.
