The Young Foundation of Florida, Inc. was established on October 22, 2012 by a group of colleagues and friends who were touched by one individual whose life was too short but so very inspiring. This young man was the Course Director for the Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon from 2010 to 2012 and this young man taught us all that life is what you make of it by wanting more and working hard to achieve that.
The Young Foundation wants to identify other young people, who like Jake Young, have that fire in their hearts, that impeccable work ethic but lack financial support to further their education...he was meant to have taken on the world and conquer it. The Young Foundation of Florida wants to make sure other young men and women, who share in his dream, have the right backing to indeed take on that challenge and conquer.

The Grand Strand Humane Society takes in animals brought in by the City of Myrtle Beach Animal Control as well as those brought into the shelter by members of the community. They are committed to the care and humane treatment of all homeless and abandoned animals. They are further committed to providing excellent guest service to those people visiting our facilities in the hope that all our animals can find caring and loving homes. They also work at educating our community about responsible pet ownership and finally, to investigate and attempt to prevent cruelty to all animals.
