Mini Marathon & Coastal 5K General Information
This amazing half marathon and 5K race is a South Carolina Dream! Experience the Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon™ a nationally acclaimed vacation destination as you like it best…on your feet. This surfing themed half marathon and 5K, with its signature surfboard finisher medals, live music and awesome post race celebration party is the new MUST do race on the Atlantic Coast. Our awesome half marathon course features over 5 miles of oceanfront running! Both the 5K and half marathon start and finish with beautiful views of the ocean! After the event, join us at Grand Strand Brewing Company for live music and post race awards presentation….maybe even take a swim in the warm waves. Why not, it’s Myrtle Beach, come run and have an awesome time! We have a rucking division for both the half and 5K distances.

The requirements: Wear a Ruck or Backpack with the standard weight-10lb for participants 150 lbs. and under, and 20lb for those over 150 lbs. Your ruck pack will be weighed at the beginning of the race. No participants will be weighed, weight requirements are on the honor system. Most females carry 10lb and most males carry 20lb. Weighted vests are permitted or you must wear a backpack with the weight on your back at all times during the race. GoRuck participants must complete the half marathon in 3.5 hours or less.
Runners and walkers are welcome along with strollers. No dogs allowed on course. The half marathon time limit is 3.5 hours/16 minute mile pace and the 5K time limit is 70 minutes.
Half Marathon Pacing Team: Each pace group will be led by 1-2 experienced pacers who will run as close to even splits as possible during the race to ensure finishing within a minute of the goal time. Pacers will line up about 15 minutes prior to the race start and have a designated sign indicating the goal time.

Race Packet Pick-Up
Unless you purchase VIP Packet Pick-Up, you must pick up your race packet for the Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon & Coastal 5K prior to race day.

GEAR CHECK
Gear check will be available on race morning! Gear check drop-off will be located at the Boardwalk at the end of 9th Avenue and will open at 5:45 am.
Place items in a bag clearly marked with your name and bib number on the inside and outside. In addition, tear the gear check tag from your bib number and attach to the outside of your bag. To claim your gear bag, show your bib number to the volunteer. Both the bib number and the number attached to the bag MUST match.
All bags must be claimed by 11:00 AM. Bags not claimed will be disposed of. Do not leave valuables, cash or jewelry in your gear bag. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Post-Race Party & Beer Garden
Once you finish running, there’s still a lot to do at the finish line! Celebrate your victory with us at Grand Strand Brewing Company post-race music & beer garden! Stay a while and listen to the sweet sounds of the live music and dip your tired toes in the warm Atlantic waters. Remember that the average water temperature in Myrtle Beach is 66 degrees at this time of the year! What a way to chill and soak those tired feet!
Beer Garden
There will be a Beer Garden at the post race celebration at Grand Strand Brewing Company. If you are over 21 years old want to enjoy a post race celebratory beer after the race, you must have a valid driver’s license or identification to enter the Beer Garden. Your bib contains 1 “drink tag” that must be presented prior to receiving your complimentary pour. Race participant must pick up their own and are not allowed to give their drink tag to others. Soft drinks will be available for those not wanting beer. Additional drinks and food will be available for purchase.
Finisher Medals
Runners travel from all over the world to run for a medal. Get ready to receive the most incredible surfboard medal in the industry. Our half marathon surfboard medal is 7″ long and our Coastal 5K surfboard medal is 4″ long! We have created the “original” surfboard medals to award all our finishers. Each year the signature surfboard medals will evolve so you can add a new medal to your collection!
Age Groups and Awards
Awards will be given to the top 3 overall male/female finishers, overall masters male/female, and overall grand masters male/female finishers. GoRuck participants will award the top 3 male/female finishers in the 5K and half marathon. No age group awards for the GoRuck. Age group awards given to the top 3 within each age group as follows:

Overall awards are issued based on gun time and age group awards are based on chip time.
